Resumo (PT): São referidos alguns momentos do trabalho de reflexão, em curso, sobre o tema da representação de Salomé e de João Baptista em desenho, pintura e escultura, ao longo da História, tendo em vista identificar as particularidades da abordagem de José Rodrigues a esse tema, nas várias técnicas. Procura-se reconhecer o que constitui uma visão pessoal do escultor e o que tem correspondência em obras de outros autores.

Abstract (EN): This paper gives notice of some stages of the search I have been done, in the scope of the study of the work of the sculptor José Rodrigues, concerning the representations of Salomé in drawing, painting, engraving and sculpture, throughout the time. After analysing works already done on this subject by several authors and supporting my own conclusions on that information, I outline a description of the different interpretations of the theme in different historical moments, and I make a first attempt to identify the peculiar character of the interpretation of this theme by José Rodrigues.
