Resumo (PT): Tendo como pano de fundo o imaginário do fim do mundo na literatura brasileira, este ensaio lê alguns poemas do volume Um Brasil Ainda em Chamas. Antologia de poesia brasileira contemporânea (org. Wilson Alves-Bezerra e Jefferson Dias, Contracapa, 2022). Numa representação plural da catástrofe, referências bíblicas cruzam-se com notícias da atualidade, a tradição do cordel funde-se com a denúncia do horror presente: o imaginário do fim do mundo não para de se reinventar para dizer os medos e as lutas do século XXI.

Abstract (EN): Having as a backdrop the imaginary of the end of the world in Brazilian literature, this essay reads some poems from the volume Um Brasil Ainda em Chamas. Antologia de poesia brasileira contemporânea (org. Wilson Alves-Bezerra and Jefferson Dias, Contracapa, 2022). In a plural representation of the catastrophe, biblical references intersect with current news, the tradition of the cordel merges with the denunciation of the present horror: the imaginary of the end of the world continues to reinvent itself to reflect the fears and struggles of the 21st century.
