Objectives
- To understand core concepts of security and crime policy;
- To develop skills in critical analysis through engagement with the academic literature on crime and security policy;
- To develop an appreciation of the relationship between security and liberty, considered through the medium of counter-terrorism strategy and techniques;
- To develop awareness of the global circulation of criminal justice, policing and security policies, including current trends in policy-transfer and commodification;
- To examine security and crime policy within the wider analytical framework of comparative criminal justice.
