Acting in situations of Anxiety and Panic
- Remove the person from the place where the anxiety/panic episode occurred and lead them to a safe and reserved place;
- If you are unable to accompany the person, call or ask to call the first aid team;
- Ask the person if she usually takes any medication (anxiolytic) and, if so, ask if she has it with her and if she wants to take it;
- Help the person to calm down and breathe;
- If the person is not physically agitated, ask the person to sit down;
- If the person does not stabilise, explain that 112 will be called and that they will help (if in doubt, always call 112);
- If an ambulance is sent to FCUP, inform the Security Post (Front entrance);
- Request identification information from the person (name, telephone contact, student / mechanographic number) to report the occurrence.
