Applications for the master’s degrees must either be handed in in the Postgraduate Studies Department of this faculty or sent by post to the following address:
The application fee may be paid either by cheque or by money order to the order of FCUP Treasury.
The following documents must accompany the application:
- Letter of application addressed to the Chairman of the Scientific Board requesting the student’s acceptance
- Application form
- and ficha académica or certidão de licenciatura and a certidão de aprovação em unidades curriculares In the instance that a completed first cycle university degree is not required as a minimum requirement, the applicant may turn in the certidão de aprovação em unidades curriculares indicating his/her respective credits
- Curriculum Vitae
- Photocopy of Identity Document
- Photocopy of Tax Identification Card (or equivalent document)
- Other documents judged necessary for evaluating the application
Some courses may request further documentation, such as in the case of the Master’s in Landscape Architecture which requires a portfolio.
(*) If at the time of application, the student is not able to present all of the required documentation, non-official documents may serve as a temporary substitution. The official documents, however, must be presented at the time of enrolment. Similarily, in the case that the student chooses to turn in his/her ficha académica, the certidão de aprovação em unidades curriculares must be presented upon enrolment. It is incumbent upon the student to point out at enrolment any discrepancies between the official documents and the extra-official ones; otherwise, or in extenuating circumstances, the FCUP reserves the right to re-evaluate the applicants or even to reject both the candidate as well as any subsequent acts.
Note 1: Students of the UP are not required to turn in documents attesting to their academic qualifications, nor any certidões de aprovação em unidades curriculares.
Note 2: An application fee of 55¤ has been established by the UP Fee Schedule.
