Objectives
The main aim of the unit is to call the students attention to the major legal aspects that the use of technology involves, specially related with privacy. Students shall take the legal solutions in account when solving a technical problem.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students will be expected to be familiar with the legal instruments, doctrine and jurisprudence related to their activity as computing experts, and to develop skills to solve practical problems.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Presentation of the themes and demonstration of their practical implications through examples and the use of jurisprudence. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussion and to give verbal feedback of the legal solutions to the problems that are solved by the group.
Students shall develop individual presentations.

Eligibility for exams
Frequency is achieved by class participation, by given a presentation and by a final exam.
Calculation formula of final grade
Distributed frequency is achieved by classroom participation and by the presentation of a oral paper on one of the topics of the programme. The final grade calculation (0-20) will depend on the final exam grade (60%), classroom participation and paper presentation (10%+30%).The final exam is a written exam.
The minimum grade in each component is 8.
