Objectives
Provide students with the necessary skills to be able to maximize the value of information, minimizing risks associated with its inefficient management, through a set of specific processes, techniques and tools.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the UC, students should be able to: (a) explain the fundamental concepts of information management (b) distinguish and complement the functions of an information manager and a data scientist (c) develop an information system that takes advantage of resources and information capabilities of the organization (d) demonstrate the value of information in an organizational context (d) create information visualization plans.

Formal presentation of the subject in theoretical classes supported by the discussion of supporting documents.
The practical component of the course is mainly based on solving practical cases and group work.

Eligibility for exams
Group work with a minimum grade of 9.5.
Final exam with a minimum grade of 9.5.
Calculation formula of final grade
Final grade = 0.5 * TG + 0.5 * Exam
TG = Group work.
Work in groups of 4 elements. Each work consists of a written component and a presentation component. It is necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 9.5
for exam readability.
The work will have an intermediate oral presentation with a weight of 15% in the final grade.
Grades within the same group may be different, as 15% of the total grade will be attributed to hetero-assessment (5%) and performance in the oral presentation (10%).
Exam - It is necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 9.5.
