Eligibility for exams
Achievement of the minimum grades for all evaluation components
Calculation formula of final grade
Public examination of written thesis.
The final grade will be assigned based on the following criteria:
- Information provided by the advisor(s) regarding the student’s performance;
- The report written by the student;
- A public presentation and defense of the correspondent work
Observations
The supervision of the work is performed by members of the Department so that the performance of the students can be objectively evaluated. Besides the information provided by the advisor(s), the dissertation is reviewed by an external examiner (from a different University). This protocol allows the internal evaluation of the student (by the advisor(s)) to be cross-checked by an external reviewer, giving credibility to the process and to the final grade. The grade itself is quantified based on the above mentioned parameters in such a way as to minimize subjectivity.
