This course aims to dig deeper into select topics of data networks. It goes wireless, mobile, deals with some operators technologies and some research proposals. There is a balance of lectures and lab work that touches the subjects of the course, so that the student is able to apply the theoretical knowledge in practical examples.

The course tries to go deeper on subjects touched previously on other courses and also to introduce some research proposals. As such, the program below is indicative as some research subjects may be introduced or replace the ones below:
The course will be divided in lectures and lab work. Lectures on the the program subjects will be given by the teacher and/or invited lecturers. The students will work on subjects during the course and will present the results of said work.

Both the work assignments will be part of the final grade as discussed below.

The final grade will be based on the work assignments' grade and 2 tests (or 1 supplementary exam). The following formula will be used:
(NPT x 12 + NE x 8)/20This applies to all exams: normal, supplementary, special season, last year student or grade improvement.

Students wishing to improve their grades in the following year may do so on both components by re-doing the one they wish to improve.
Within the semester, the student can improve the NME grade by taking the supplementary exam.
