Objectives

The aims of the course are to approach with students a set of interdisciplinary concepts in areas such as risk analysis, work safety and occupational and environmental hygiene.

Learning outcomes and competences

The students will be able to identify, evaluate and control workplace hazards resulting from physical and chemical agents.
The theoretical component will focus on the acquisition of principles that support the methodologies of analysis and the processes of risk reduction/elimination.
The practical component envisages the acqusition of skills on the collection treatment, analysis of aerossols, gases or vapours in confined or open environment, as well as the interpretation of the measured values. Simultaneously, students will carry out work involving the collection, treatment and presentation of information related with environmental safety and hygiene in diversified professional activities.
