Abstract (EN): The aim of this work was to study the mechanical behaviour of blood using a controlled stress rheometer. The shear rate dependence of blood viscosity (flow curves) and oscillatory measurements were analysed under different experimental conditions. The results demonstrated that rheological parameters obtained in the mathematical models used to fit the flows curves depend significantly on the experimental conditions. The results also suggest that the oscillatory tests may provide important information about the blood viscoelasticity and the process of blood aggregation.
