Abstract (EN): The function and sustainability of cities influence and are influenced by urban morphology and spatial processes of socioeconomic activities. These networks of activities associated with cities are geographically distributed in space and operate on multiple scales ranging from local neighborhoods to the region beyond. Thus, the spatially pattern-process approach developed in landscape ecology seems quite appropriate for urban systems.
