In accordance with n.º 2 of Article 4 of the General Regulation for Third Cycles of Studies of the University of Porto, and with Article 31 of DL 74/2006, of 24 March, with the new wording introduced by DL no. 65/2018, of 16 August, students may, in alternative to the presentation of a Thesis in the classic format, submit a minimum of two published articles (in the original format of publication - the original PDF) and, eventually, articles accepted/submitted/in preparation.

The regulations previously mentioned are complemented by the Recommendations for preparing a doctoral Thesis of FCUP’s Scientific Council.

Therefore, all requests for article-based thesis should be based on the request template above and the aforementioned recommendations. The requests must be submitted to the department responsible for the Doctor Degree.
