Objectives
The training unit has the following general objectives:
- Transmit knowledge of design and maintenance of gardens as carbon sinks and promoters of cultivated biodiversity in the urban context.
- Promote the ability to identify botanical species and their cultivation.
Recipients
Students must be attending a 1st cycle or 2nd cycle course at the University of Porto.

According to the nature and objectives of the UC, the 30 students should form a transversal and diverse sample of the educational offer of the U. Porto, intending to have 2 students from each area/facultyFor the selection and ranking of candidates by scientific area (Note 01), the following factors will be taken into account, assigning a score (0 to 20) according to the following candidate characteristics:
- Attendance of a 1st or 2nd cycle course at the U. Porto (eliminatory factor*)
- Motivation letter: 12 points
- Curriculum Vitae: 8 points
Notes
- The diversity of the candidates' origin will be privileged through the equitable distribution of vacancies by the scientific areas of the candidates, with the selection and ranking always being made from this perspective. Example: 35 candidates from 7 different training areas – 4 students from each scientific area, applying the selection and ranking criteria.
- The tiebreaker is the course average.
