The Master’s in Astronomy aims to complement and deepen the training of First Cycle degree holders in Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics and related areas, improving their preparation and initiating them into a research career in Astronomy, leading to their subsequent enrolment in a Doctoral Programme in Astronomy.

The University of Porto has a Luso-French Double-Degree in accordance with the Université Paul Sabatier-Toulouse III, França, where the Master Sciences, technologie, santé mention Physique et Astrophysiquetakes place. The student enrolled on this programme will attend one academic year in each university, receiving the master's of science degree from each institution.
