The Doctor¿s Degree in Mathematics is jointly organised by the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Teachers from these two departments will be teaching the curricular units, regardless of the institution in which the doctorate course takes place.
The approval in the curricular units that compose the curricular part of the study plan of the Doctor's Degree in Mathematics - including the compulsory curricular units - amounting to 60 ECTS, allows for the issuing of a certificate of doctorate course in Mathematics (does not grant a degree).
The two universities will jointly award the Doctor's Degree in Mathematics.
