Special Admissions to Higher Education 2023-2024

a) Students who have been approved in the tests designed to assess the ability to attend higher education for applicants over 23 years of age.

Only students who have been approved in the tests designed to assess the ability to attend higher education for applicants over 23 years of age may apply.
REQUIREMENTS TO ENROL IN THE CYCLE OF STUDIES
Obtain approval in special test/exam as stated in Decree-Law no. 64/2006, of 21 March, in one of the access tests carried out per cycle of studies by FCUP, taken in the year 2023 or in the 3 previous years in FCUP or in another institution that the FCUP Scientific Council considers acceptable.
SELECTION AND RANKING CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
In descending order of relevance:
  • Results on the special admission test/exam
CANDIDATE TIE-BREAKER CRITERIA
The following criteria are applicable, in descending order of relevance:
  • Gap between 2023 and the year the special admission test/exam was taken.
  • Age.


Note: Military personnel who have completed at least one year of service in Contract Regime, four years of service in Special Contract Regime have priority access to 2.5% of the vacancies in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 76/2018, of October 11, if they
  • Fulfil the conditions in Article 2 of the Regulations for Tests to Assess the Ability to Attend Higher Education of the University of Porto for Applicants over 23 years of age.
  • Have never been enrolled in a public higher education institution.
If the application of the 2,5% percentage on the vacancies tendered results in less than 1, one vacancy shall be made available.

b) Graduates of Technological Specialization Courses (TDET)

Special admissions for Graduates of Technological Specialization Courses in the area (CNAEF) indicated in the table below, who have taken the secondary education admission exams required to enter the intended cycle of studies following the general regime for accessing higher education regulated by Decree-Law No. 296-A/98 of 25/09 and obtained a minimum of 95 points.

SELECTION AND RANKING CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
Weighted average of the following criteria in descending order:
  • (60%) - Results in the Admission Test(s)
  • (40%) - - Score obtained in the technological specialization course, on a scale of 200 points.
CANDIDATE TIE-BREAKER CRITERIA
In descending order from the highest score on a scale of 20 points:
  • Weighted average of the credits obtained in the curricular units of the technological specialization course.

Applicable Law:

Decree-Law No. 88/2006 of 23/05 - Regulates technological specialization courses, non-higher post-secondary training that confer Level 4 professional qualification, as amended by:

d) Holders of other Higher Education Degrees (TOCS)

Holders of bachelor degrees, first cycle degrees, master or doctorate degrees concluded in Portuguese Higher Education institutions and/or candidates who meet the requirements in Article 26 of Decree Law No. 11/2020 of 02/04 may apply.
SELECTION AND RANKING CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
In descending order from the highest score on a scale of 20 points:
  • The final grade in the higher education course. For doctorates, 16.
CANDIDATE TIE-BREAKER CRITERIA
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the requirements in Article 26 of Decree-Law No. 11/2020 of 02/04. , holders of bachelor degrees, first cycle degrees, master or doctorate degrees.
