PhD Registrations in the academic year 2018/2019
Did you submit your thesis for defense ?
You don’t need to renew your registration.
In the previous academic year, did you have an official registration in Thesis? |
Did you finish all your courses/first year ?
Note: 'all courses' is meant for the PhD’s with courses in the first year; 'first year' is meant for PhDs with Thesis in the first year.
To register officialy in Thesis (after you finish your first year) you must submit the following documents:
- Thesis registration form
- Declaration from supervisor and also co-supervisor, if you have one.
- Thesis report
- Scholarship renewal (*)
- Passport copy
(*) for scholarship students
Did you exceed the duration of the PhD and just want |
Note: 3 years for PhDs with 180 ECTS and 4 years for PhDs with 240 ECTS
To request a 90 days extension you must submit the following documents:
- Request to the President of the Scientific Council from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto
- Declaration from supervisor and also co-supervisor, if you have one.
- Thesis report
- Scholarship renewal (*)
- Passport copy

RENOVATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS (FCT, CAPES, CNPq, Others)
Please chose your tuition fee plan according to the scholarship you receive.
The Scholarship renewal must be submitted following your registration in your student account in Sigarra (access your PhD profile, Options, “Comprovativo de pedido de bolsa de estudos”). The school insurance must be paid until the deadline indicated in your “Conta Corrente”.
