Objectives

To guide students towards acquiring knowledge about the theme of their dissertation/placement and its analysis and structuring, allowing them to identify key points about the theme, as well as the methodologies to use and the planning of the work to be developed.

Learning outcomes and competences

It is intended to provide students with the necessary tools to know the key factors in the different themes of the dissertation, as well as guide them to conduct a research, study and in-depth analysis of the methodologies and alternatives for implementing the work to be developed.
In this sense, the syllabus (varied depending on the dissertation that has individual character) are organized so that at the end of this course, students:
- Select the theme of the dissertation;
- Conduct a detailed, relevant and current bibliographic research related to the theme;
- Identify, explore and select the most appropriate methodologies to develop the chosen theme;
- Be aware of the alternative methodologies that may be implemented in case the selected ones are not adequate;
- Identify and plan the different tasks to perform for the development of the dissertation theme;
- Schedule the tasks to develop;
- Write the work plan to be implemented during the dissertation/placement.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The CU consists exclusively of individualized tutorial support by the tutor / advisor, where no attendance control will be performed. Support material for projects will be researched by students and in some cases may be provided by their tutors / advisors.
Tutorial support will be more intense at an early stage of the project before the dissertation.
