Development of laboratory skills and presentation, treatment, interpretation and discussion of experimental results, individually and in group.
Integration in the laboratory experiments of the key concepts of chemical equilibrium, thermochemistry, chemical kinetics and electrochemistry, presented on the courses Chemistry I (Q1009) and Chemistry II (Q1011).
This course consists of practical classes, in which the following laboratory experiments are carried out.
1 - Titration of an aqueous solution of HCl with borax
2 - Recycling of aluminium
3 - Determination of the rate constant of the methyl acetate hydrolysis reaction
4 - "Iodine clock" reaction – method of initial rates
5 - Determination of the molar enthalpy of formation of solid ammonium chloride
6 - Electrochemistry experiments: galvanic cells and corrosion
