Objectives, activities and expected/achieved results

The Portuguese Semiconductor Observatory will be a digital platform that will serve as a comprehensive repository,
consolidating a set of strategic information for the ecosystem of the Microelectronics and Semiconductor industries in
Portugal. Its main purpose will be to map these sectors meticulously and provide specialized information on different
socioeconomic components to all stakeholders, both national and international, promoting investment, cooperation,
recruitment, and specialized training in these two economic sectors. This Observatory aims to be an online repository
and will include:
- Map the Portuguese Microelectronics and Semiconductor Sector (e.g. start-ups, SMEs, large companies, RTOs,
academia, expertise, competencies, business area, products etc.)
- Provide information on current state-of-play and innovation trends in the Portuguese ecosystem.
- Provide information on Innovation Trends at international level, benchmark and compare with the national ecosystem.
Provide policy recommendations on initiatives and measures to be implemented to public authorities.
