The Postgraduate Education Unit is responsible for the administrative management of academic processes and procedures related to 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Studies (Master’s and Doctoral programs), operating under the supervision of a PhD faculty member appointed by the Director, following consultation with the Scientific Council. |
Description: |
The responsibilities of the Postgraduate Education Unit include: a) Preparing official letters, public notices, and announcements related to various academic procedures; b) Defining and overseeing the execution of procedures related to applications, enrolments, registrations, attendance, course completion, and other academic activities; c) Processing and recording all student academic actions, organizing and maintaining up-to-date individual student records and databases; d) Issuing certificates of enrolment, registration, course completion, degree completion, and other non-confidential documents pertaining to the Unit; e) Managing the processes for granting credit transfers and degree recognition; f) Collecting and providing all supporting information required for Executive Board decision-making, and fulfilling reporting obligations to U.Porto, the supervising ministry bodies, and official statistical agencies; g) Ensuring the quality of information provided through the FCNAUP information system within its scope of activity; h) Maintaining its records up to date; i) Providing information on academic matters related to 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Studies (Master’s and Doctoral programs) through the established channels and within the defined timeframes; j) Performing any other duties assigned by the Executive Board. |
