The PhD in Clinical Nutrition is a post-graduation aimed to professionals of Health Sciences areas.

The cycle of studies is a three years cycle and provides a total of 180 ECTS. The cycle consists on the development of a thesis of scientific, unique and specially held for this purpose on the basis of a research work, and whose approval in a public examination will award the degree of Doctor on Clinical Nutrition.

Objectives

As a post-graduate education leading to a doctoral degree, this cycle of studies aims to train high-level researchers, able to work independently in different sectors in the areas of Clinical Nutrition, showing systematic understanding, skills and research method and being able to critically analyze, evaluate and synthesize new and complex ideas, create and manage solutions (taking responsibility for their actions, in particular for the impact of ethical issues that they will bring), and know them to communicate in the academic and general community.

Academic and curricular requirements

Bachelor's degree holders (with a minimum mark of 14/20) or master (integrated masters) in the areas of Nutrition, Medicine or another area considered adequate by the scientific committee of the cycle of studies (minimum 240 ECTS) in the area of health sciences;

Applicants must also have a good spoken and written English and Portuguese.
