Objectives

To provide comprehensive knowledge on the pharmaco nutrient interaction, on biochemical evaluation and interpretation of analytical data relevant to nutritional assessment. To provide advanced knowledge clinical situations in the pediatric area as well as on obesity and adult diabetes

Learning outcomes and competences

This subject is plannned in a pludisciplinary approach that allows the student to understand the relevance of the determinants of several indoles, as well as to promote the role of the nutritionist as a specialist in evaluating and planning the nutritional needs and food intake in various clinical situations, pediatrics or in adults.

Laboratory semiology relevant in clinical nutrition. Influence of external factors (fasting time, harvesting mode etc.) in the interpretation of analytical data. Reference intervals, what is the meaning (the basics of how they are obtained).

Drug - Nutrients / Food interaction

Psychological intervention in obesity.

Physical activity and physical exercise in clinical nutrition.

Diabetes in pediatric age

Obesity and metabolic syndrome in the pediatric age

Intestinal gastrointestinal disorders in pediatric age

Kidney disease in pediatric age

Changes in lipid profile in pediatric age.

Etiopathogenesis of diabetes. Aspects of Nutrigenomics. Genetics of diabetes.

Etiopathogeny of DM1. Clinical Aspects. Complications.

Etiopathogenesis of obesity. Clinical aspects and pharmacological treatment.

Metabolic syndrome: etiopathogenesis and clinical aspects.

Pharmacological treatment of DM2.
