Objectives

In Constructed Textiles Course aims to an introduction to the world of textiles - materials, methods and tools - as another means of artistic expression and technical formalization. Rehearsing to create models and structures - individual and team works. Researching, organizing, planning and projecting. Managing critically different stages of work depending on the desired results. Be able to cooperate in carrying out individual schemes and / or group. Be able to understand and adapt the materials, methods, tools and processes to the desired results. Rationalize the transverse dimension of the different disciplines of the course.

No âmbito da UC, o estudante deverá ser capaz de projetar, ensair/experimentar, testar e expor os procedimentos que mais se adequem à concretização dos seus projetos, sendo valorizados quer os processos como os resultados obtidos - conforme o programa e objetivos enunciados.

The unit aims to implement research projects in a row in the three-dimensional application of sustained artistic expression as textiles, paying special attention to the use of such processes and issues in contemporary art. It is also assumed to raise awareness of the critical conditions of the textile process and contextual artistically applied. As the course objectives proposes to deepen the knowledge of materials and technologies involving textiles, particularly as regards its use in three-dimensionally built development and implementation of projects of individual students, in parallel with the deepening of historical knowledge and artistic area, both the evolution of disciplines and techniques of artistic production as related to it. The establishment of protocols with partners outside the university, particularly with other educational institutions, promotes advanced technologies in contact with the area, where classes will be conducted in partnership and with the support technician.

Teaching methods and learning activities

- Construction and development of a logbook which sets and show whether the information provided in class, such as investigations, the development of the work. - Classes of presentation, exhibition and debate about several artists and their works in many different ways to approach using textiles with privileged means of artistic expression - Realization of papers - Visits to studios and workshops (planned). - Presentation and Development of proposals for work.
