Objectives
. To deepen the knowledge and conceptual tools that allow the exercise of critical and autonomous reflection in the area of Sculpture in its various aspects and contemporary modes of expression.
. To raise awareness of the challenges of independent work in the studio, depending on the degree of autonomy achieved on completion of the course;
. Understand and consolidate knowledge of the diversity of issues surrounding artistic production in its relationship with the social, political and cultural context;

Acquisition and development of reflection skills, analytical tools and critical language.

The Sculpture Seminar is structured around a series of sessions that problematise certain areas of knowledge which, as a whole, seek to strengthen the artistic project of the final-year LAP student.
Supported by a line-up of guests/experts, we will reflect on the following themes:
- Copyright and related rights;
- Archiving strategies and the visibility of artistic practice;
- The workings and specificities of the artistic circuit: Artist-run spaces; contemporary art museums and commercial galleries;
- Some notions of taxation (specific to intellectual work);
- Good conservation and restoration practices;
- The curatorial experience;
- Artistic practice and non-formal artistic education (some examples);
- Strategies for the sustainability of artistic practice; To these topics will be added others proposed and concatenated by the students.

Eligibility for exams
Obtaining attendance is done through Continuous Assessment, which presupposes high attendance at classes and active participation in them, autonomy of research and knowledge of the contents and also the development of a personal and autonomous vision of the subjects studied.
To obtain frequency in conjunction with Continuous Assessment, it is mandatory to prepare an essay project that fits the following parameters:
Proposal – Theoretical or practical theoretical essay
Preparation of a short original essay written or through another support or reflective means that develops one or more contents of the sessions presented.
The essay must be delivered in digital format (pdf, wav/mp3, mov/mpeg4) and simultaneously presented in the classroom using resources that are relevant.
Reference parameters:
The essay must be delivered in digital format:
theoretical: pdf;
audiovisual: mpeg 4/ avi;
other formats need to be discussed in advance with the teacher;
Limits:
Theoretical: 3000 words minimum, excluding bibliography
Audiovisual: up to 20 min maximum
