Objectives
The main objective of the Subject of Visual Devices is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge in which the image, fixed and in movement, assumes a decisive role for the development of research projects.
The discipline is divided between the exploration of technological support, inseparable from the capture of images, and research methods allied to the construction of a critical spirit through the analysis, understanding and discussion of examples in the context of the area of experimentation and reflection around specific projects. This approach is associated with an informed and integrative perspective on the relationship between visual devices and research and project practice.
Learning outcomes and competences
- Understand the historical and cultural complexity of visual devices;
- Be able to problematize the regimes of visibility and enunciation of images from a critical perspective of visual media;
- Develop knowledge about research and experimentation methods for carrying out projects involving the production and dissemination of the image (still or moving).

Teaching methods and learning activities
The discipline provides lectures for the discussion of texts and the analysis of specific cases and visual projects. Critical and creative exercises will be carried out and the production of projects that can collaborate with the apprehension of the contents and the development of the ongoing research. In this way, we seek to offer creative autonomy, both conceptually and in terms of realization, in an attempt to develop original and innovative experiences.
