Objectives

The global objective of this unit is to contribute to broader discussions on contemporary artistic practices and their crossings with other areas. These discussions will take place with the work oh artits into the class room.

  • To value the experimental methodologies and group discussions.
  • To encourage the intersection with the work developed in other curricular areas or even in other contexts.
  • To develop analytical tools, individually and in group.

Learning outcomes and competences

Discussions in these classes are like plastic matter. The artists will bring their work processes, exposing all its faults. Every chance of developing this starting point will be welcome and methods are aware of the lack of coherence of its objectives. In art coherence is relative or relates to everything that we want to avoid. Our world suffers from certitude. This unit attempts an adventure beyond the school limits and the artists come from the outside.

Program

The program of this unit builds up himself. The work of the artists will bring different topics of discussion and pictures to see. An infinite field of possibilities is opened here. Processes, attempts, mistakes. Exhibitions, presentations. How to bring the work to be seen? How to speak about the job done? How to translate what is in the work of artists, filmmakers?

Art and the difficulty of talking about it. Art and events therein. Art when you exit to the outside. Art and the lack of it.

Art and boredom.

Art is calculating? — Art and the impossibility of a program.

The artistic practice — a place of the unknown.

The artistic practice — a character arriving from a foreign country.

Artistic practice or artistic practices?

The art and the temperature of things — is it cold or is it hot?

Where are we when we talk about art?
