Objectives

The ability to write clearly and effectively assumes an important role in the academic world. Today, it is no longer enough to write dissertations or theses to complete the study cycles. It is also required to do communications and to write academic texts ("papers") that can be published in magazines "peer review".
This class seeks to fulfill this necessity by focusing attention on four main areas of research and dissemination of scientific work: argument, approach, research topic and structure.

Learning outcomes and competences

In general terms, by the end of the semester the students should be able to investigate and produce knowledge in the visual arts and design. More specifically, the students, in order to be evaluated, will have to submit three different types of documents: an abstract, a communication, and an academic paper.
