Objectives

Providing new opportunities and advice within the practice of painting for students of several years, who wish to enlarge their experience and knowledge in some technologies in the process of painting. It is intended as a privileged space for experimentation of theory vs practice, research, and resolution of technical problems that may arise from the intrinsic duality between process / project, in order to build a solid base of knowledge on various techniques and materials, under the practice of painting, which facilitates the students with tools for a consistent and objective reflection and in choosing the right practical methodologies for the development of a pictorial project.

Learning outcomes and competences

Acquire specific knowledge about painting techniques, and its proper use and application.
Deepen the knowledge already acquired in the field of painting in previous academic years, specifying the development of laboratory and methodological do the same.
Encourage a character of experimentation in new technologies pictorial, so complementary investigations practices developed in the core subjects.

Since this is a course open to students of different years and curriculum, the program will be individualized taking into account the specificity of each student, consisting however, within the general scope to deepen the knowledge of various techniques in the field of painting.
In this subject will be given to each student to choose the option of choosing the development of monitoring exercises  to the complement of your individual project, the level of the course of Atelier II or Project, or the choice of exercises scheduled about specific technologies for the development of technical knowledge of various possibilities of application / usage / maintenance as thorough as possible to the material in question.
The proposal of art and painting instalation in sito,obvious concerning ways of seeing the objet of painting.

Teaching methods and learning activities

It is made by the teacher an individual accompaniment during the class period, or in the additional period of service. The minimum frequency and dialogue are essential, registering on individual records the moments of contact, suggestions and evolution of major work. Will be reviewed and discussed the purpose of each student at the beginning and during the work. There will also be a point of situation and analysis at the end of each semester.

Eligibility for exams

Type of evaluation: Avaliação distribuída sem exame final

Terms of frequency: In the evaluation is taken into account attendance and quality participation. It is mandatory to comply with a minimum of 75% of classes. It is essential the students' work being made in the atelier at the College, both during and outside of the class period.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The assessment is continuous, and as such will not be admitted to the Final Assessment the student who has not developed any contact with the teacher.

Calculation formula of final grade

Formula Evaluation: Attendance at work and persistence, technical, inventive and cultural demonstrated by each student, and capabilities of self-criticism and criticism. In the case of one course open to students from three different years, is considered the situation of each student, not only as individual case, but also with reference to the experiences and levels of learning evident and traceable. The importance of each of the different factors listed above, varies in each case. Of course, this is an evaluative activity which is not devoid of subjective elements. However, in the final evaluation will be accountable the following items: Attendance - 15% Participation / motivation - 10% Critical sense - 10% Project Option - Research and reasons - 5% Plastic qualities: performance, creativity, originality - 25% Evolution - 15% Development and delivery - 10% Amount of work - 10% Option techniques - Plastic qualities: Execution - 25% Creativity - 5% Evolution - 15% Exercises performed - 10% Working overtime - 10% Reiterates that it is vital the work of students being made in the workshop at the College during and outside the class period.
