Program

The book, the editorial, the poster or the advertising are assumed not only as his supporters and historic experiment vehicles, imaging aids in the interpretation of texts and narratives, but also as autonomous visual signs in the construction of identities and verbal and visual discourse. In short, we intend to understand and explore the various functions of visual illustration in history and in contemporary contexts of communication. There will be an approach to practical and identity of illustration through the exploration of different themes such as the construction of characters, their interaction with the various narrative elements and its media placement. It is based on these identifying characteristics of the illustration that each student will develop their projects by experimenting with tools and design techniques. It will examine examples from editorial projects from different audiences, towards verbal narratives belonging to the historical body of illustration or other instances of massive illustration.
