The Project / Internship discipline has as fundamental objectives, the accomplishment of curricular internships of professional preparation or the production of individual graphic contents in a project context. The internship provides students with skills and capital gains in the operational performance of their project area, applied in specific labor territory, and the management of the internship takes place at an academic level. From an individual perspective, this practical component allows not only the insertion but also the professional development and innovation of the student. In the sphere of the Academy, the relationship with the business fabric contributes to a more integrated and desired model of education. The Project strand corresponds to a space of affirmation and personal research of the student, in the form of a theoretical-practical research project self-proposed and guided by a teacher. This project must include premises such as creativity, originality and a sense of authorship in its design, structuring and realization.
It is intended that the student of internship obtain the competences that a real work contact can offer them, namely personal enrichment, the development of his graphic and methodological aptitudes. At the level of the project, the student is expected to acquire autonomy skills in the thinking and practice of design, through the implementation of a theoretical / practical project of an individual nature.
The Project / Internship course aims to apply and complement the theoretical-practical skills developed throughout the degree in Communication Design, through a learning process, which also constitutes an approximation of the student to the job market in the case of the curricular internship or personal project of theoretical-practical investigation.
- Through a curricular internship, in welcoming entities indicated by the degree, and considering the possibility of the student suggesting an alternative entity (always subject to the approval of the coordination of the curricular unit). The supervision of the traineeship is incumbent on two supervisors, a faculty member of the Project / Internship FBAUP course and a supervisor of the welcoming entity where the internship takes place.
- Through the development of a personal project, to be carried out under the guidance of teachers of the degree in Communication Design of the FBAUP, after approval of the coordination of the curricular unit.
Both modalities require the submission of a final report, whose purpose is, on the one hand, to allow the student to present the issues, processes and solutions found, with due theoretical basis and reflection on the subject matter; on the other hand, serve as an element of evaluation. In the case of the internship report, guidance is always the responsibility of the supervisor / one of the teachers in the course unit.
