Objectives

Building the writing of the theoretical area of research.

Consolidating the evidence that there is no research activity without the ability to communicate the procedures and outcomes with others.

This curricular unit continues the work undertaken within the studies cycle in the first two semesters in order to develop the approved project, in particular concerning the collection of the theoretical referential, the methodology to implement, collect data instruments and initiate the deepening process of theoretical and methodological construction started in earlier stages.

It should also focus on the analysis of results and limitations of studies conducted as concomitant preparation for writing the thesis.

There is the tutorial follow requirement of the study / project, in student groups by thematic areas and in clear articulation with writing / thesis project. Foresees presentation of collegial sessions of progress reports.

The curricular unit Seminars Research Design I includes participation of the student in didactics activities as well as activity in an internal workshop with external visibility.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Each session will have individual or group discussion of the various proposals to develop (research management and Communicate Research). During the classes will be presented examples, able to foment the group discussion and better understanding of the issues. Within groups, there may be intermediate presentations of work in progress that should serve as a testing for the final presentation. Assessment is continuous and is based on the following parameters:
1. Writing of the theoretical area of research;;
2. Coherence between theoretical assumptions that justify the research management and the way this one is resolved;
3. Capacity to achieve in a communication / presentation, the work research developed;
4. Teaching Activity and participation in the organization of internal workshop with external visibility.
