Objectives
The purpose of this course unit is to give students an understanding of the currents of graphic design's criticism, as well as its history.
Skills: writing and critical argumentation about design.
Results: It is expected that students know the history of design criticism as well as its methodologies, being able to apply this knowledge in a dynamic way as a designer, researcher, editor or curator.

1 - Presentation of the program, evaluation methods and schedules. Presentation of the course unit bibliography.
2 - The function of criticism in society and design.
3 - Methods of public discussion.
4 - Critical Issues in Design: The shape of things.
5 - Critical Issues in Design: The history of design as a critical argument.
6 - Critical Issues of design: Politics, ethics and institutions.
7 - Critical Issues in Design: Authorship and biography.
