Specific Objectives:
To map the experiences in urban intervention and transformation and determine comparative methodologies and indicators, with a view to establishing an historical-comparative map of the processes of gentrification in Brazil and Portugal;
To analyse the urban policies and heritage policies, from a comparative perspective, through case studies involving Brazilian and Portuguese cities;
To update the conceptual debate through the preparation of a Glossary of Urban Studies, to be published in co-authorship between Brazil and Portugal;
To consolidate the Brazil-Portugal Network of Urban Studies, with a view to establishing a permanent forum for debate, and gradually broaden its scope among researchers from Brazil and Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking researchers;
To encourage academic exchange among the universities involved, through the supervision or co-supervision of Masters and PhD students and Post-doctoral researchers;
To prepare a comparative typology of the different experiences of ennoblement in Brazil and Portugal, and publish it in the form of a collection of specialised texts, with Portuguese-Brazilian co-edition. |
