Cristina Ferreira, born in Porto (Portugal), graduated in Communication Design, Master in Art and Multimedia and PhD in Art and Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. In 1997 she received the Engenheiro António de Almeida Foundation Award as the best student in the Communication Design Course. Adjunct Professor at the Department of Design of the FBAUP, teaching the areas of Communication Design and Communication Sciences (Visual Communication; Photography; Interactive audiovisual Narratives). Develops research in the epistemological universe of images intersecting the territories of communication design, visual literacy and photography.
Integrated member of i2ADS (Institute for Research in Art, Design and Society) since 2022 and collaborating member of ID+ (Institute for Research in Design, Media and Culture) since 2014. Member of IDENTIDADES_Colectivo de Acção/Investigação (ID_CAI). Member of the Laboratory for Health Literacy Creation at the University of Porto (LACLIS).
