Pedro Maia is an Artist, Researcher and Professor (Ph.D) of the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto; Invited Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Drawing Department of the Master in Architecture Program of Lusófona University of Porto, Collaborator Member of the Institute for Research in Art, Design and Society (I2ADS), Porto (FBAUP). Member of the Scientific Commitee Master in Fine Arts FBAUP 

Studied Fine Arts, Painting, Photography, Video and Design. Postdoctoral (ongoing), Facultat de Belles Arts of the Universitat de Barcelona, Sabbatical Scholarship from the Science Foundation and Technology (September 2015 to January 2016) and Scholarship from the Orient Foundation in Goa (October 2015). PhD in Drawing, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, in 2010, specializing in the Facultat de Belles Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona, 2006-2008, with scolarships from Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and European Social Fund. MFA - Fine Arts / Painting, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, U.S.A., 1990. Scholarships from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Luso-American Development Foundation and Fulbright. Television Workshop, Amherst Public Television, U.S.A., 1990. Degree in Fine Arts - Painting, College of Fine Arts of Porto, 1988.
