The Master in Illustration, Editing and Printing (MIEP) finds its identity in the practice of illustration, focused in particular on its editorial aspect.
MIEP intends to understand the contamination processes between different disciplines that constitute indelible marks of illustration and at the same time favor the exploration in its own place of the particularities that made it specific. This perspective assumes the multimodal character of illustration and at the same time values its ability to mirror, reconstruct and contribute to social, cultural and artistic changes in paradigm.
MIEI aims to provide students with arguments and processes — formal and conceptual — that allow them to produce an authorial discourse in the field of illustration.
It aims to promote the practice of illustration as a language of communication, through knowledge and skills that allow students to develop illustration projects from the conception of the script to its conceptual and technical materialization; from artistic practice and visual narrative to the editing and reproducibility process; produce editorial artefacts with diversified programs;
The main goals are to promote illustration as part of a visual grammar that manifests itself beyond its formal positioning.
Critical and reflective thinking is encouraged, on the territory of illustration itself and in articulation with other areas of scientific and artistic knowledge: on the historical, printed tradition, of illustration at the service of the commissioned, but also on contemporary illustrated narratives.
