The PhD program in Art and Design explores the field of investigation in Art and in Design in such areas as Visual Arts, Design, Curating, Art Theory and Criticism and other relevant research areas in the field. The aim is to promote a research culture specific of the fields of Visual Arts and Design and related disciplines thus contributing to the definition of research profiles within both at an advanced level.

The program presents a common structure offering the option of branching out into specializations in Art or Design production or theory, while allowing opportunities for contact and interchange between both specializations.
