Objectives
Acknowledge fields, authors and reference projects in the practice of Illustration;
Understand the various functions of illustration in history and in different contemporary contexts of communication;
Master specific concepts and vocabulary within the scope of the project;
Acquire research and information archiving tools for practical application;
Knowing how to interpret texts and adapt visual signs to verbal narratives;
Apply theoretical and practical knowledge in terms of techniques, materials and supports, targeting different artefacts, audiences and functions;
Consolidate different work methodologies;
Develop autonomy in the practice of Illustration;
Respond to requests and specific programs, as well as develop personal proposals of an editorial nature.
Learning outcomes and competences
The methodologies support the learning objectives through a set of strategies that enable students to practice illustration design. From knowing the fundamental elements of illustration and the respective techniques, authors and functions to experimenting with solutions to problems; from the analysis of repertoires to the development of diversified work methodologies, students acquire skills that complement each other in the development of the illustration project.

Eligibility for exams
Final grade equal to or greater than 10 values (10/20)
Fulfillment of the attendance criterion, according to article 10 of the RADFBAUP, namely not exceeding the limit of 25% of absences from the number of classes planned.
Calculation formula of final grade
Attendance, autonomy, research, processes as well as project results are contemplated as evaluation factors.
