Objectives

To identify the ontological and epistemological field of arts education; Deepening and structuring an advanced knowledge in the domain of the methodologies of research in arts education; Produce systematic interdisciplinary knowledge and critical analysis of research projects in arts education; Contribute to stimulate the production of original knowledge, and create opportunities for young researchers in terms of relationships with international researchers and institutions; The UC is structured to promote the following skills: Ability to systematic understanding of research projects in Art Education; Ability to draw creative solutions for innovative projects in order to understand the complexities of the realities to work on.

Learning outcomes and competences

Production of a research project that allows the configuration of a PhD thesis well clarified and qualified within the field of arts education.

Ability to mobilize the different curricular units of the program to a qualified exercise of research according to each student's thesis.

The UC aims to develop skills and knowledge in the different fields of Arts Education linking research, creation and reflection on teaching practice. Functioning in the first year, the UC addresses a number of issues considered relevant to the production of contemporary knowledge in different areas, and contributes to the consolidation of the interests of individual research. Curriculum development consolidates the direction of research, founding it both in historical and critical context, supported by updated research methodologies and recension of texts and authors of reference. It also develops and provides advanced tools for reflection and creation in art, and of analysis and contact with the teaching activity, from the research proposal of each student.

he activities take place in a participatory environment through discussions and group work . The model also incorporates tutorial and autonomous activities ( bibliographic search, reading, analysis of texts, writing ).

Eligibility for exams

Terms of Frequency : Attendance in classes, research work. Final project. This final work takes the form of ' Thesis Project ' and will be subject of public discussion before a jury. The event is called 'proof of qualification'.

Calculation formula of final grade

Formula Evaluation : The student obtains the frequency of the course through the 'proof of qualification' plus the qualified participation in the UC activities , the development of autonomous work, b.learning participation on the platform and the production and publication of original work.

Examinations or Special Assignments

final written work (project of thesis);

publication of a paper in a scientific journal with peer-review (or, at least, the acceptance for publishing)

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

The students, within the situations under the legislation and rules, that do not have a regularity in the activities will have to present, further than the elements for classification specified bellow, the proof of publication of at least two papers in peer-review journals.
