Summary: |
The B-Learn project is designed to offer a number of tested ways of integrating traditional learning methods with methods offered by new technology. Blended learning draws on the best aspects of both traditional and new ways of learning, making innovation in otherwise traditional university teaching easier and acceptable. Integrating research and practical examples provides a good basis for initiating change in universities that are by definition research-based.
Primary target groups are the users of blended learning (teachers, students, instructional designers, educational technologists), mostly from HEIs but from other types of institutions as well.
The main outputs of the project are:
- a compendium providing a comprehensive overview of blended learning, practical examples and guidelines for applying different design patterns of blended learning
- an electronic performance support system (EPSS) to assist instructional designers in developing a suitable blended learning model for their courses
EPSS is a product with a common creative licence, which means that anyone is allowed to change, localise and use it provided they include a reference to the authors of the product.
The project uses experiences from 5 European countries, takes into account and incorporates learning cultures and traditions from different European countries and publishes its results in several European languages. |
