1st Application Phase 2024/2025 | Specialization in Health Technology Design

From 01st to 30th June, 2024

Specialization in Health Technology Design (Postgraduate Training)

It is a non-degree course, with the framework and requirements of a 2nd cycle, with a minimum of 30 credits (ECTS).

Students who successfully complete the specialization course will be issued a specialization diploma (non-degree), with an indication of the credits (ECTS) awarded, allowing the European recognition of the competences acquired.

Recipients

Adults (over 23 years old) residing on national territory at the time of the actions they will benefit from (according to the terms of point 3 of the Notice of Initiation 01/PRR/2021);

Professionals working in the clinical context (doctors; nurses; psychologists, carers);

Professionals working in the area of new media (designers, artists, computer engineers) who wish to requalify skills by directing them to mHealth/eHealth;

Graduates in artistic, engineering or communication areas who wish to specialise in the scientific areas of the course;

General objectives of the course/training unit

  • Provide students with solid training in the principles of Design for interactive media in Human Centred Design methodologies applied to mHealth and eHealth;
  • Know human factors, their relationships and impacts on the body's homeostasis, health and well-being associated with 'User Experience': Cognition; Memory; Emotion; Feeling; Motricity;
  • Know and apply methods of 'User Research' in the context of health;
  • Provide students with a basic training on principles and requirements of privacy, cybersecurity and current legislation and how these affect the development, design, interaction and integration of technology centered on users of health technology;
  • Know the context of 'serious games' applied to healthcare. Their mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics;
  • Know and analyze case studies in clinical context in Human-Computer Interaction;
  • Know and implement methodologies for prototyping and evaluation in the development of clinical technologies.
