Researcher, artist, and designer. She holds a postdoctoral degree in Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto, where she developed the critical and creative proposal of the Metaimage. She holds a PhD in Communication and Semiotics (PUC-SP) with the thesis Photographic Thinking, a proposal for a more integrated understanding of the representational complexity of the technical image. She also holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Semiotics (PUC-SP) and a specialization in Theories of Communication and Image (UFC). She has multidisciplinary teaching experience in the fields of Image, Design, Media, and Communication, including coordination of multimedia projects. She is currently a full-time researcher at the Research Institute in Art, Design and Society (i2ADS), Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), where she leads the Philosophical Media (PhilMe) project. Her research interests lie in the relationships between logics, media, and image devices in both analog and digital contexts, from the perspective of creative processes and media archaeology. She has published in academic books and exhibited artistic works internationally.
