The Curricular Unity aims to sensitize students to the impact of buildings on environmental and social ecosystems, studying and discussing, during the sessions, some themes that can inform the construction of an individual position.
It is intended, with the structure and organization of the sessions, and with the content addressed, that the students develop analytical capacity, critical sense and a general understanding of the topics covered. It is also intended to ensure a mastery of basic knowledge that informs their future practice as architects. The elaboration of a written essay will help to develop critical analysis capabilities, argumentative reasoning and a comprehensive framework for the topics covered.
The Curricular Unity program will be based on the following topics, to which others may be added whenever the case studies determine it, discussing the concepts, impacts and different forms of action.
Complementary other texts will be provided for critical reading and discussion during the sessions.
The teaching method is based on the articulation between small modules presenting theoretical contents and case studies, with critical discussion sessions that evaluate the opportunity and relevance of the presentations, the case studies presented, and the impacts of the topics in the contemporary condition of architectural practice and in the built environment.
It will always be sought to establish links with contents taught by other curricular units, complementing the normal classes with invitations to various 'actors' and external visits.

The final work will be delivered in a written document and defended orally. The oral presentation should take place within a predefined period of time and divided equally by all members of the group.
All the evaluation classifications will be expressed in a 0 to 20 scale.
All documents presented for evaluation should be the exclusive work of their legitimate authors.
