Abstract (EN):
The suitability of the organometallic chemical vapor deposition (OMCVD) method for the preparation of platinum catalysts supported on activated carbon was investigated. The nanosized particles of platinum deposited on activated carbon were obtained in a hot wall fluidized bed reactor. Results show that OMCVD is convenient to produce well defined, well dispersed platinum particles provided an oxidizing treatment of the carbon support is done, either with HNO3 to give rise to carboxylic groups, or with air to increase the mesoporous surface area.
