Abstract (EN): In climate risks adaptation, you need to think small. The approval, on April 16th 2021, of the Climate Law by the European Council and Parliament finally pay tribute to the efforts of researchers who, like Luciano Lourenço, have tried to give a social utility to the scientific knowledge, in this case in the field of climate risks. The benefits of choosing adaptation solutions are not easily clear and perceptible as the contributions of the EXHAUSTION project (Exposure to heat and air pollution in EUrope - cardiopulmonary impacts and benefits of mitigation and adaptation) illustrate, but it is undoubtedly the most robust and the one that will promote the needed structural change of human being’s life quality and well-being paradigm essential for a more harmonious cohabitation of all elements in the ecosystem.
