Resumo (PT): A seguinte dissertação tomou como ponto de partida um projecto desenvolvido ao longo de vários anos para uma propriedade de família no centro do Louriçal, em Pombal. Naturalmente, durante a sua concepção, foi dada bastante atenção às questões do “lugar” e da “identidade”, mas de uma forma quase inconsciente. O projecto torna-se, então, pretexto para desenvolver estas ideias, para investigar um corpo teórico de arquitectura. Curiosamente, durante este desenvolvimento teórico que viria a validar um projecto já existente, a maioria das ideias mantiveram-se fortes, mas algumas revelaram-se fracas, e como tal foram abandonadas. Não é nossa premissa enfatizar que alterações tomaram lugar antes ou durante o desenvolvimento da dissertação, mas permitir que os temas seleccionados “Lugar”, “Memória” e “Identidade” ganhem protagonismo e relevância.

Abstract (EN): The following dissertation took has a starting point a project that has been developed throughout the years for a family estate in the center of Louriçal, in Portugal. Naturally, during its conception, a lot of care was given to the subjects of “place” and “identity”, but in an almost unconscious way. The project thus becomes a pretext to further develop such ideas, to further inquire the body of architectural theory and research. Curiously enough, throughout the development of this theoretical validation of an already existing project, the majority of the ideas where set to stone, so to speak, but a few where revealed as weak, and so abandoned. It is not our premise to emphasize which changes took place before or during the dissertation’s development but rather allow the selected themes of “Place”, “Memory” and “Identity” to gain protagonism and relevance.
