Resumo (PT): Vivemos na procura do correto equilíbrio entre a herança recebida e o legado que transmitiremos. Neste balanço compreendemos o Tempo – construção mental – transposto para a matéria com que a arquitetura é construída. A intervenção arquitetónica, enquanto espaço colaborativo, é o lugar de aferição de possibilidades de posicionamento crítico face ao Tempo. Um passado imperfeito impele a mudança, a constante alteração de vontades, o trabalho sobre a construção preexistente. Estudamos a posição arquitetónica entre a fidelidade e a confrontação, a partir da construção da ideia. O projeto de intervenção é utilizado para estudar a colaboração com a arquitetura preexistente, percecionada como imperfeita. O arquiteto, enquanto ator interventivo deve conscientemente expressar o seu necessário posicionamento crítico e ativo na maleabilidade do tempo através da matéria. A estruturação do trabalho baseia-se numa tabela de dupla entrada a partir das topologias do tempo – Krzysztof Pomian – e das fases da narrativa – Paul Ricoeur. É atribuída a cada topologia do tempo – estacionária, linear, cíclica – um projeto de intervenção, enquanto aferição da sua adequabilidade e pertinência. As fases da narrativa – prefiguração, configuração, refiguração – organizam a exposição de cada projeto de intervenção. A “Topologia Estacionária” será entendida a partir do confronto com a intervenção na Piazza Alicia e Chiesa Madre de Álvaro Siza e Roberto Collovà. A “Topologia Linear” será estudada a partir da extensão do Tribunal de Gotemburgo, de Erik Gunnar Asplund. O Tempio Malatestiano, Leon Battista Alberti, integrado no Renascimento, será analisado com a lente da “Topologia Cíclica”. A cronosofia “Estruturas” questiona esta categorização das intervenções a partir do estudo da intervenção no Castelvecchio, de Carlo Scarpa. Partindo da grelha proposta, é aberta a possibilidade da leitura cruzada e comparativa entre os projetos, base de inferências transversais sobre a intervenção arquitetónica.

Abstract (EN): We live in the pursuit of the right equilibrium between the heritage we receive, and the legacy we will bequeath. In this balance we aim to understand Time, a mental construction, converted in the matter with which architecture is built. The architectonic intervention, as a collaborative space, is the place to measure positioning possibilities towards Time. An imperfect past impels change, the constant variation of will, and the work developed on existing construction. We seek a position between fidelity and confrontation based on the construction of the idea. The intervention project is used to study the collaboration with pre-existing architecture, an imperfect past, aware of the needed critical and active positioning that the architect, as an interventive actor, shall express in the malleability of time through matter. The structure of the work is organized as a double entry grid based on Krzysztof Pomian’s time typologies and Paul Ricoeur’s narrative phases. To each time typology — stationary, linear, cyclic — there is an assigned intervention project, in order to assess its suitability and pertinence. The narrative phases — prefiguration, configuration, refiguration — organize the exposition of each intervention project. The “Stationary Typology” will be understood from the confrontation with Álvaro Siza and Roberto Collová’s intervention in Piazza Alicia and Chiesa Madre. The “Linear Typology” will have as case study Erik Gunnar Asplund’s Gothemburg Courthouse extension. Leon Battista Alberti’s Tempio Malatestiano, from the Renaissance, will be analyzed through the lens of the “Cyclic Typology”. The chronosophy “Structures” questions the interventions’ classifications, through the study of Carlos Scarpa’s intervention on Castelvecchio. Besides this structured reading, a continuous one is allowed, inciting cross-referenced and comparative understandings between the interventions and the typologies.
