Resumo (PT): A partir de um enquadramento teórico discursivo-pragmático, definimos como objeto de análise a construção do discurso científico na Revista Portugal Colonial, publicada durante o Estado Novo, a fim de determinarmos os modos discursivos de construção da ciência na relação com a ideologia do Estado Novo português. Portugal Colonial é uma revista mensal de propaganda, publicada de março de 1931 a fevereiro de 1937. Ao contrário do estereótipo do cientista e do seu trabalho em ciência, confinados ambos a uma redoma ou torre de marfim, não é possível compreender a ciência fora do contexto sócio-histórico que integra. Por outras palavras, não é possível pensar a ciência em rutura com a ideologia. E também neste caso as evidências textuais apontam para uma forte associação entre ciência e ideologia nos artigos analisados.

Abstract (EN): Based on a discursive-pragmatic theoretical framework, we define as object of analysis the construction of scientific discourse in the Magazine Portugal Colonial, published during Estado Novo, in order to determine the discursive modes of construction of science in relation to the ideology of the Portuguese Estado Novo regime. Portugal Colonial is a monthly magazine of propaganda, published from March of 1931 to February of 1937. Unlike the stereotype of the scientist and his work, both confined to an ivory tower, it is not possible to understand science outside its socio-historical context. In other words, it is not possible to think of science as breaking away from ideology. This is also the case: textual elements point to a strong association between science and ideology in the articles analyzed.
